Tonight's Kansas football game at Texas didn't seem easy, and it will be even more difficult with some news tonight from Austin, Texas, that KU will be without two of its better wide receivers.
It seems like Texas getting shut out last week at Iowa State might be the worst outcome for KU for this game. You've gotta assume the Longhorns will come out more focused than some teams do against Kansas. UT isn't very good — by Texas standards — but Charlie Strong and his players need to prove the season isn't going in the wrong direction. At 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12, the Horns are running out of time to do so.
Just to remind you how important WRs Tre' Parmalee and Steven Sims are (both out tonight due to a 1-game suspension): Parmalee leads the team with 29 catches and 464 receiving yards. Sims is 2nd with 21 receptions and 234 yards. Combined, they have 4 TDs, which is more than the number of receiving TDs for the rest of the team combined (3).
Ryaan Schadler takes opening kickoff 21 yards for KU, as the Jayhawks open with the ball.
