Game blog: KU football at No. 14 West Virginia
-
Mountaineers drive continues with 22-yard catch by Daikiel Shorts on 3rd-and-14.
-
-
True freshman Bryce Tornden, Lawrence native, defending on that last pass in the end zone.
-
-
Field goal attempt by WVU goes wide right. Still 45-14.
-
KU goes with a trick play. Steven Sims tosses a 40-yard pass to Michael Zunica.
-
My only question is why go trick play now and not earlier in the game?

Jayhawks in the red zone after two straight completions by Carter Stanley.
-
Nice throw by Carter Stanley, better grab by Steven Sims. 11-yard TD.
-
Stanley in two drives has already proven he is way better than Cozart

Might have found something with Carter Stanley. He looks so much more comfortable, much more accurate, more decisive, more mobile, and the players reacted to him much better than they do with Cozart.

FINAL: No. 14 West Virginia 48, #kufball 21. Jayhawks fell into 31-point halftime deficit and never recovered.… twitter.com/i/web/status/7…by KUsports.com via twitter 11/6/2016 2:50:32 AM

The throw to Martin was the right kind of throw. Cozart would have thrown that either way over his head or in a position where he can't catch it on the run. Remember, Martin runs a 4.3 40. So many passes tonight by Cozart were way off target, or he just made the wrong read and threw the wrong pass. Stanley had much better pocket presence and looked much better on his feet. Maybe Stanley and the scout team QB should both move up into the 1 and 2 spots on the depth chart when Spring Ball starts. Cozart has had enough time to figure it out and he hasn't. Time for him to be put on the shelf as a QB. Put on the edge as a slot and give us another guy who can catch some balls and be productive, because as QB, he isn't getting it done.
-
I think Beaty will have to at least think about giving Carter Stanley the start against Iowa State. Might as well get an extended look at him. But he really hasn't played outside of garbage time either.
-
But in the first half, there was still at least 3 plays where Cozart wasn't on the same page as his receiver. No matter who is at quarterback, that has to be fixed.
-
On a scale of 1-10 for the people left in here, how confident are you that the Jayhawks will win next week against Iowa State?
